The professionals at Medical Rehabilitation Associates (MRA) together possess decades of experience in performance of forensic and medicolegal work. The professionals at MRA perform independent medical evaluations and second opinions for a variety of sources including the Workers' Compensation Board, attorneys and various insurance carriers. Several members of MRA have actually served on advisory panels to the Maine State Board of Workers' Compensation and continue to interact on a regular basis with the board.MRA services include opinions regarding causation, work capacity, necessary and reasonable medical treatment, life care plans, medical cost projections, etc.
The characteristic for which MRA is noted is that of objectivity. While the professionals at MRA are for the most part engaged in the care of patients, they remain as objective as possible in medicolegal analysis. The MRA professionals try to provide an honest and accurate assessment based on the scientific literature and a careful and thorough analysis of and examination of the patient and/or client, as well as relevant medical records.
MRA also can provide a relatively rapid turnover rate to assist in meeting the need for medicolegal deadlines when necessary. The professionals who engage in this forensic work include both physician professionals and behavioral psychologists. Evaluations may be obtained in each of our offices, as well as out of the state of Maine .
For pure functional capacity assessments, MRA does provide use of the KEY method of functional capacity assessment, and this can be custom tailored to assess appropriateness of a specific job when necessary.
